1981, Biloxi Mississippi, i arrive from Lackland AFB for my technical training to also learn about worlds with wizards and dwarves and things magical. Nothing was ever the same again.
Fast forward to 2016 and meeting author Bill Webb and his mega campaign “Rappan Athuk” for the game “Swords & Wizardry”. Harkening back to the cery original version of D&D… not Basic D&D, not Advanced D&D, but the original pamphlets.
This is a campaign, one without a specific end goal. No saving the world, defeating the evil overlord or the demonic wizard bent on conquering the wurld. Nope this is an area on the edge of what passes for civilization. The Wilds. Lands where danger is the norm and being just a little bit nuts is an asset not problem.
